Welcome to our new local directory. We are lucky to live in such a vibrant community, with wonderful local amenities like churches, pub, village hall, St. Bartholomew’s School and the Wigginton Community Shop.
There is a great range of local groups and clubs within the parish and this local directory is designed to let you know how to get in touch and take advantage of them whether you are looking to join the WI or fancy joining the film club.
We hope you find the directory useful.

Wigginton Gardeners Association
The Association was formed in 1977 with the object to promote the interest of all members in their gardening activities, to arrange lectures, competitions & other events.
We used to arrange two horticultural shows each year – one in the spring and one in September but we had to remove the spring show due mainly to it being almost impossible to plan when we could get enough flowers to hold a show.
• We would like to arrange a gardener-oriented coach outing each summer.
• We also hold a programme of evening lectures in the autumn through to the spring. Each event is a social occasion with an opportunity to meet like-minded villagers.
• Our Social Night in December is a great night out where proceeds from the evening are traditionally donated to a worthwhile local charity.
Obviously Covid has caused a major curtailment in our activities but we hope that they can be resumed at some time in 2022,
Membership is only £3 per household. If you are interested in joining please email steve.cannon@hotmail.co.uk

Wigginton WI
Wigginton WI isn’t just about baking and making jam. As well as our monthly meetings with speakers we walk, read books and plays, go to films and theatres, hold craft afternoons and meet for lunch. We take part in village events and raise money for local charities.
We organise local visits to places like an alpaca farm, Amazon’s fulfilment centre and Luton’s last hat factory, and outings further afield such as behind the scenes visit to Wimbledon and the Albert Hall.
Most of all our WI is a great way to meet local people. It’s supportive and fun. And there are plenty of opportunities for baking and making jam if you want to!
We meet on the second Tuesday of each month, 7.30 pm at Wigginton Village Hall. Come along or contact Sue Hexter.
